The Lord protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and then he saved me.
Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)
What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see.
Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) says that without faith it is impossible to please God. Why? Because it is only through faith in His Word and promises to us that we can be His true children. But our faith has to be like a child’s—without questions or doubts. We, as parents, get irritated and even hurt when our children don’t believe what we say and don’t trust us.
Sometimes we may have given them a reason not to trust us, but God has never given us any reasons not to trust Him. He never changes and always keeps His promises. It is up to us to choose to believe in Him and act on His Word so we can receive His promises.
We need to meditate on His Word and continually hear it until it sinks into our hearts and we can say, “I believe! I got it now!” The Bible promises us that the Lord protects us when we have childlike faith, and we will walk in the Lord’s presence as we live here on earth (Psalm 116:9 NLT). Christians are to live by faith, and that faith is to be like a child’s.
