Over the past several months, my heart has been increasingly burdened for Israel. Like many of you, I've watched the events unfolding in the Middle East and the growing hostility toward Israel and the Jewish people around the world. What concerns me even more is that many believers are becoming unsure how they should respond. But I want to encourage you to step back from the noise for a moment and remember something important: Our relationship to Israel as believers is not ultimately rooted in politics. It is rooted in Scripture. |
The God we worship is the God of Israel. The Scriptures we cherish came through the Jewish people. And the Messiah we follow was born, lived, died, and rose again in the land of Israel. That doesn't mean every decision made by a government is beyond criticism. But it does mean that we should never forget that God has made irrevocable promises to the people of Israel (Romans 11:28-29). Throughout Scripture, God promises to preserve the Jewish people and restore them to the land. The modern regathering of the Jewish people to Israel is one of the most prophetically significant developments of our time and a powerful reminder that God keeps His Word. For me, this is not simply a historical or political reality. It is also deeply covenantal. What we are witnessing today is connected to covenant promises God made long ago and continues to fulfill before our very eyes. I also believe we are entering a season when it will become increasingly difficult for believers to stand publicly with Israel. That is why it is so important that our convictions be shaped by Scripture rather than by headlines, social media, or public opinion. My encouragement to you is simple: Pray for Israel. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray for the Jewish people. And ask God to help you understand the prophetic significance of this moment and what it means to stand with Israel in a way that reflects His heart and His purposes. |
