Are Your Earnings Enhancing Your Life?

Proverbs 10:16 (NLT)
The earnings of the godly enhance their lives, but evil people squander their money on sin.

Earning money for the hard work we do is part of the satisfaction we get from working. It is one of the rewards and the fruit of our labor. God wants to reward us for that work. The Bible tells us the earnings of the godly enhance their lives. The key word is godly. Being godly is a lifestyle, and part of that is using God’s wisdom to spend our earnings. The way we spend our money determines if our lives will be enhanced or not. Unfortunately, nowadays there are a lot of Christians who mismanage their money and spend it on sin just as unbelievers do.

Where do we draw the line on how we spend our money? I believe when we use our earnings as God leads us, we give glory to Him. God leads each one of us to do different things with our money. Our priorities should be to give to His kingdom as He directs us and to meet the needs of our families by paying our bills. We need to learn to manage our money and live within our means to avoid the trap many Christians and non-Christians alike fall into—bankruptcy. Therefore, let God direct your use of money and your earnings will enhance your life
